An easily overlooked consideration that needs to be addressed is whether Groveton ONLY adopted an honor code. Were any other anti-cheating measures put in place at the same time? For example, were penalties for cheating stiffened? Did professors begin using anti-plagiarism software in perusing term-papers? If these or other expedients are in place, the claims on behalf of the honor code are at least partially compromised.
