我也是这两天看了几个帖子，有感而发。 
这些帖子，都是翻译求助，里面的内容一个共同点，看完了一头雾水，多看几遍就会头晕. 
客户发给你这个东西，就是要表达某个意思，所以说，这段话怎么错都好，都是有意义的，问题是我们怎么去理解和处理. 
由此觉得有必要发此一文，谈谈我的看法。 
学校只教正确的英文，对于错误，我们老师教的处理方法就是一个，画个叉，结案。 
但是对于客户的英文，我们怎可以就画个叉了事? 
我说说我的处理手法: 
首先考量背景，这个信件是想问什么或者解释什么或者要求什么?把这个一定要搞清楚. 
然后分析结构,肯定有人问,通常这种英文结构都是一塌糊涂,都不合语法的怎么分析? 
这里的分析就是看他那一部分是修饰什么的，那一部分是解释什么的，把主要的段落找出来.这个阶段，某些词什么意思不须理会，也建议不要在这个阶段把这些词转化成中文.因为他这个词也可能用错了，如果你在这里就转了中文后面就很难出正确的结果. 
在这里，你就基本形成了一个句子每一部分之间是什么关系，然后再来看词的意思，如果原词意思不通，用它的解释修饰部分，如果还是不通用于之想接近拼写的词. 
然后就你推测出来的意思，用最简单的英文结构，最直接的表达方式,复述一遍给客户，让他在确认，给他却认这个问题的时候，尽量让他回答yes/no,因为如果让他解释可能解释出一篇东西又让你头晕. 
讲得不够清晰，下面结合一个错得很离谱的例子解释一下. 
this client doesn’t represent to a company she is a client that sells the products that I design him so that these they are applied to several companies in that you/they make her consumers to increase their sales by means of promotions of publicity  这是"原本宁"今天发的一个帖子.

大致一看，这段话是向你解释客人的身份.就你提出的"这个客人是代表什么公司?或者这个客人是否是某个公司的代表?"类似的问题的答复. 
再来分析结构.这个阶段词语不要翻译. 
the client dosnt’s represent to a company.这表达了一个独立意思 
she is a client that sells the products that i design him又是一个意思. 细分拆一下,sells the products是修饰client的, i desgin him是修饰products的. 
so that these they are applied to several companies in that you/they make her consumers to increase their sales by means of promotions of publicity 这个有点复杂. 
so that these, these这个地方很可能是想表达so that的原因，去掉这个多余的词. 
they are applied to serveral companies这是一个意思 
in that,这个看起来希望表达一个连接词，所以不用理会具体意思，前后理解了，这里就自然明白了. 
you/they make her consumers to increase their sales by means of promotions of publicity. 
前半部分有点头疼，后面清晰,先把清晰地确定了. 
to increase their sales by means of promotions to the public, promotion of public说不通.所以是promotion to the public 
make her consumers,make something to her consumer 还是 make her as a consumer. 
根据整个句子应该是make 一个状态 to达到一个目的.所以这个地方就是 
you/they make her as a consumer to increase their sales by means of promoting to the public. 

至此，结构理解了，再来理解词语看意思. 
the client dosnt’s represent to a company.这个地方client先不要翻译成客户,为什么呢？因为你的问题用的"client"这个词，他在解释所以采用这个词，而他解释的重点是他不是什么客户的代表。所以用the one.来理解比较通顺.a company也是不通的，但是在最后整理意思阶段的时候，可以理解这里实际上讲的是any single company.
