  诚信

As is ironically shown above ,in front of a pile of so-called “famous brand” fake leather shoes and under a signboard of “honest dealer” stands a business man, asking an old man “what are looking for ” , with a reply from the old man---honesty/credibility 。(with the old man replying that I am looking for honesty/credibility。)There has been a heated discussion about this kind of pictures in the newspaper. Simple as the picture is, it does demonstrate certain thought-provoking social phenomenon。

The picture tells us that the credibility remains to be an integral part in our society, especially in the commercial world. Nowadays, individuals, enterprises and organizations do attach due attention to this issue. By gaining credibility , people and organization can make money , take profits and even obtain wealth. With credibility and sincerity, not only can they accumulate wealth , bur will also establish their careers, fit into society and finally attain social status. Honesty can promote communication between people, rid of barriers between people and bridge gaps between people. what’s more, were there no credibility in our society, never could we survive the fierce competition in the age of globalization。

As a consequence, honesty is not something that we can afford to lose or leave it at large. It is imperative that corresponding regulations and mechanisms with the joint efforts of the media should be introduced and enforced to promote honesty. The awareness of honesty should be enhanced, which will lead us to make every effort to keep our promise and boycott fakes which are shown in the picture. Only in a reasonable, prosperous and healthy atmosphere can we hope to avoid the scene in the cartoon and witness the ideal scene in which people can enjoy their life to the uttermost。

  附加学术诚信的语料:

(Honesty is paramount not only in the commercial world but in other domains. In the academic world, for instance, the plagiarizing of others research results can have damaging effect, which makes it easier to dismiss all scientific pronouncements. when we learn that the distinguished professor assuring us of the safety of a particular product holds a consultancy with the company making it, we cannot be blamed for wondering whether his fee might conceivably cloud his professional judgment。

  信心/金融危机/甲流/就业难

As we can see from the picture, a football match is going on. On guarding the goal, the man on the left seems to be keeping a “huge goal” that is easy and inevitable for a goal, while the person on the right hesitates to kick the ball with an illusion about the “huge keeper”。 It is obvious that both of them exaggerate the difficulties in front of them。

This picture does reflect a thought-provoking social phenomenon which is not uncommon in China now. The young always give up because the problem is beyond their ability to cope with. Superficially, it seems to be somewhat reasonable, but when weighing in the mind, we find there is an apparent tendency underlying this phenomenon: the lack of confidence. Firstly, it is well-known that we exist in a dynamic world with various difficulties. We can do nothing but face them. Secondly, attitude is the key point to take the first step. Assuming bravery and confidence to solve the problem, you will find the question is not as “huge” as you imagine. Take us for example, the entrance exam for graduate students even seems to be a horrible monster before us. Some people give up, some persist. So, with confidence and the right assessment of the difficulties, try and exert your strength, and then we will overcome all problems。

On the whole, I believe we young people should face the difficulties in right manner. And nothing is impossible, just do it。

  个人修养、社会公德

According to a survey, more than two thirds of people in China agree that, the public moral level is lower than before. This figure, although hard to accept, has indicated the fact that the nation‘s overall morality is declining. If you pay some attention, you could easily point out some improper behaviors happening around: young men refusing to give seats to the old on buses; shoppers jamming into queue instead of waiting in line; crude riders neglecting red lights, etc. So what the hell is going on?

As analysts have figured out, this trend of degradation mainly originated from faulty education. For decades, Chinese schools simply infuse bookish knowledge to their students, whilst moral cultivation becomes a kind of formalism; on the other hand, children are naturally influenced by their family and other adults in the society, most of whom are too sophisticated to be considered as eligible moral models。

Facing such disappointing condition, you may ask: how can things become better? As far as I am concerned, we must following these three steps. First of all: self-shaping. We should manage ourselves well, and try to shape our own morality as perfect as possible. The second step: family-shaping, which is to behave as the model for your children and improve their moral status through strict discipline. The third: organization-shaping. If you are leading people, such as being a manager or national president, you could reinforce your whole organization‘s moral situation with policy and your own action. Even if you’re no leader, you‘ll have a positive impact on the society if only you manage yourself well and try to influence others as much as possible。

  体育、奥运

In recent months China is immersed in a joyous and proud mood, because our athletes have won great glory in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, taking 32 gold medals home and topped all other times in history. They have not only collected abundant medals in traditionally advantageous games, but also made significant breakthrough in those that were seen as weak ones. Two facts are reflected by this great success。

Firstly, it shows the miraculous increase of China‘s national power. No gold medal is won free. The country must invest a lot to build sports facilities, to train athletes and to enroll them into international tournaments. In the past when China is in poverty, we really had a hard time affording sports facilities and supporting adequate athletes, largely hindering their performance on the fields. Now that the economy turns out to be much better and it naturally boosts medals in the stadium。

Secondly, it illustrates the aspiring spirit of modern Chinese people. Decades of years ago, Chinese of that time have been humiliated as “East-Asian sick men” for their weak body and weary spirit. Nonetheless, the 21st century Chinese have impressed the world totally differently. In every field, Chinese athletes compete diligently over each medal, regardless of what the result may be. Their efforts have either won prizes or gained respect from the whole world. giant has risen from the East Asian horizon. He is more than a giant in sports
