Many changes that cause lots of problems such as famine and flu have taken place. Fortunately, many of the problems are solved by the advanced technology. However, all the races are suffering same problems, the lack of resources and the severe pollution. To my view, there are the gravest problems that will not be absolutely solved through contemporary generation.

To start with, human is not such a perfect animal so it must possess certain flaws, some of which are resistant to be corrected. To state it more clearly, as long as the issue concerns about the flawed property of human beings, such as corruption and the limited life-span, it will be so profound that the problem have already existed for several centuries without any proper solution. How can the problem that affects dozens of years be eradicated by just one generation?

Secondly, the generation in this time has changed to be much lazier due to the highly-developed modern technology. What should be emphasized is that more and more people only know how to enjoy the convenience rather than how to contribute their efforts. Unfortunately, with the continuous advancement of technology such as human intelligence, the convenient life makes people far lazier and less active. This acquired weakness with the pace of the development of the human civilization is now becoming ingrained. Therefore, such problem becomes a lost cause.

What’s more, the problem including desertification and global warming is a world issue, so it might remain yet to be solved though the current generation has been much stronger. Indeed, most of the countries are still in the developing process from time to time. To undergo the industrialization or to improve the construction of the industry, the society needs a large number of resources and labor forces, both of which can cause the aggravation of the current pollution made by excessive waste emission. In other words, where there is the urbanization or modernization, there is the inevitable side effect. In a word, in this stage, people can even worsen the problem instead of solving it.

Considering the reasons I listed, I believe that the contemporary teenagers still have to arm themselves with books and experience to cope with all the problems they face though they may not address them in a short period. Obviously, I sincerely hope that someday we can share the initial Earth full of vibrancy.

Although science and technology will continue to improve, the most significant improvements for the quality of people’s lives have already taken place.

  高分思路

  Electricity is impossible to substitute.

Wireless communication and computers are the second fundamental technology to quality of life.

factory manufacturing is a fundamental part of human life.

  高分范文

Technology has come a long way since the beginning of the industrial revolution. The standards of living have risen, all economies have grown, and we have gone from flying a wooden airplane for 12 seconds to the moon in less than 70 years. Just taking into account Moore’s Law, we know computers will continue to become smarter at an exponential rate. I will not argue that we are finished with improving our lives, but I will argue that the fundamental technologies have already been developed. There is simply no way to trump the basic scientific developments of electricity, wireless communication and computing, and factory building. All future technologies will merely be improvements and new mixtures of these fundamentals.

Electricity is impossible to substitute. It is fundamental to our way of life and all forms of energy production turn raw energy into electricity for storage and transmission. That is because electricity is so versatile and precise. We can cut the energy flows down to the most fundamental measurements of energy or turn it up to push particles near the speed of light. It is the most efficient way of storing potential energy and our entire civilization is fine tuned to use it in the most efficient way possible. Clearly it will be used on spaceships, in fusion engines and even when we discover new forms of energy, we will always convert it back into electricity.

Wireless communication and computers are the second fundamental technology to quality of life. Life, communication, memory, science, all depend on the original binary system and even the challenge of quantum computing is merely the problem of readapting the input and output into 1’s and 0’s. Wireless communication is an integral part of that because it allows all of the power and intelligence of the computer to overcome the physical limitations of cables. Whatever developments we make will always be converted back into binary code for human interaction and communicated wirelessly.

Lastly, factory manufacturing is a fundamental part of human life. No matter how far we go into the future, even when machines replace factory workers, the division of labor will always be with us. Taking apart raw materials, sorting them, then reconstituting them as a series of steps to be repeated over and over again is so fundamental, that even if we were to find a way to “materialize” things into being, this would still have to be made from dismantled, organized, and reformed pieces of atoms.

These three breakthroughs offer the fundamentals of the world we live in and the world we will continue to build on. Because we have already invested so much time and effort into them, we will always try to convert the newest breakthroughs back to the old format. Our technology will evolve, but the most significant breakthroughs are already behind us.

In the modern world, we should never be impolite to another person.

  高分思路

being polite to the opponents is the same as being cruel to ourselves.

we should not never be impolite to our members when we are leaders of teams

it is worry for us to be polite to people who do not respect us

  高分范文

Politeness is one of the most important characteristics of a nice person. However, being polite to everyone all the time is incorrect. In some special situations, politeness will only show our cowardice or bring us troubles. Here are some examples.

First of all, when we compete with others, being polite to the opponents is the same as being cruel to ourselves. Take the running race for instance, if we want to show our modesty to other players and not do our best to fight for the champion, we must be regretted to fail in the competition. Also, our friends, teachers and family members, who have great expectation on us, will be disappointed on us. Besides in sports, when we match with people in other areas, like study, career and interpersonal relationship, we always need to divide them from politeness. It is appropriate for us to do all we can for success.

Moreover, we should not never be impolite to our members when we are leaders of teams. To be a qualified leader, we should guide, organize and convince the members and make the final decision. Whereas, being too polite will lose your authority and make other members unwilling to follow you. For example, when your team is going to decide the gathering time, you need to ask for

everyone’s free time, match and find the same time that everyone is free, and finally check whether all the members agree with the time to get together. Otherwise, the whole team will be disorganized and spend a lot of time coordinating it if you cannot lead the team correctly. Thus, as a leader, we should not be polite every time.

Besides, it is worry for us to be polite to people who do not respect us. Even though sometimes, the identity or status of people is different, everyone is equal in moral. For example, when we work as waiters in the restaurant, serving the consumers is our job. However, if the consumer is so picky that always looks for faults or even degrades our dignity, it is unnecessary for us to be still polite to them. It is not worth to suffer from the consumers’ unreasonable quarrel.

In conclusion, we should not never show impoliteness to others. We should judge the situation and show the right attitude.

If you could study a subject that you have never had the opportunity to study, what would you choose?

Learning how to obtain and use credit is probably the most valuable knowledge a young person can have.

Of equal importance is learning how to plan a personal budget.

Along with learning about credit and personal financial planning, graduating college students should be trained as consumers.

  高分范文

Students graduating from colleges today are not fully prepared to deal with the "real world." It is my belief that college students need to be taught more skills and information to enable them to meet the challenges that face everyone in daily life. The areas in which student need training are playing the credit game, planning their personal financial strategy, and consumer awareness.

Learning how to obtain and use credit is probably the most valuable knowledge a young person can have. Credit is a dangerous tool that can be of tremendous help if it is handled with caution. Having credit can enable people to obtain material necessities before they have the money to purchase them outright. But unfortunately, many, many young people get carried away with their handy plastic credit cards and awake one day to find they are in serious financial debt. Learning how to use credit properly can be a very difficult and painful lesson indeed.

Of equal importance is learning how to plan a personal budget. People have to know how to control money, otherwise, it can control them. Students should leave college knowing how to allocate their money for living expenses, insurance, savings, and so forth in order to avoid the "Oh, no! I'm flat broke and I don't get paid again for two weeks!" anxiety syndrome.

Along with learning about credit and personal financial planning, graduating college students should be trained as consumers. The consumer market today is flooded with a variety of products and services of varying quality and prices. A young person entering the "real world" is suddenly faced with difficult decisions about which product to buy or whose services to engage. He is usually unaware of such things as return policies, guarantees, or repair procedures, information of this sort is vital knowledge to everyday living.

For a newly graduated college student, the "real world" can be a scary place to be when he or she is faced with such issues as handling credit, planning a budget, or knowing what to look for, when making a purchase and whom to purchase it from. Entering this "real world" could be made less painful if persons were educated in dealing with these areas of daily life. What better place to accomplish this than in college?

Nowadays it is easier to maintain good health than in the past.

  高分思路

maintaining health has been made easier in many ways thanks to technologies

a good health has become more attainable because it is no longer restricted to the wealthy people of society

governments have a greater involvement in promoting health care

  高分范文

Medical expenses in many countries can be quite expensive nowadays, and this may lead some people to believe that health care is becoming less obtainable than before. This is untrue, however. If we look at the bigger picture, it is actually easier for most people to get a good health in today's society compared to in the past.

To begin with, maintaining health has been made easier in many ways thanks to technologies. One big change is how delivery systems have made it possible for people to access fresh food. Whereas before people needed livestock to transport the food, now they can use cars and airplanes to convey the viands. Technologies have brought lots of smaller changes too. Refrigerators enable us to restore food for a long time. Ovens make it possible for us to eat cooked food. Disinfector can help us kill the micro-organisms.

Additionally, a good health has become more attainable because it is no longer restricted to the wealthy people of society. While in the past only the rich could afford fees for health care, today good hospitals are affordable enough for most people to go to. And since health problems have become a higher priority in today's society, private doctors are also more common and no longer reserved only for high-class families. As long as they have determination, anyone today can receive detailed health care, go to famous hospitals, and receive health insurance. If they cannot afford medical bills, emergent patient can obtain a grant.

Finally, in most countries today, governments have a greater involvement in promoting health care. In China, for example, health examinations are free for youths and elders. The government has even created programs to send doctors to less developed areas in order to ensure that everyone receives this minimum level of health care. Some diseases remain existent despite this, but on the whole, terminal diseases have become less widespread. China has also implemented government- sponsored programs which send doctors abroad to get promote the skills training. In contrast to before, when governments only really concerned themselves with the health care of elites, nowadays governments are very involved in the health care of ordinary citizens.

Do you agree or disagree that it is more important for universities to spend money on facilities such as libraries and laboratories than hiring famous teachers?

  高分思路

Facilities are incredibly important to students.

Facilities are also the face of the school.

University is more than just a place for students to learn

  高分范文

Teachers are the most important part an educational institution, but they are certainly not the only part. Without the tools to teach and the facilities to research in, the teachers are very limited no matter how good they are. Better facilities mean students can be taught with the latest technology and they will be able to more independent study. Facilities also directly affect recruiting because everybody wants the best gyms, research labs, and technology to do their work in. Lastly, good facilities attract good teachers, just the same as students.

Facilities are incredibly important to students. Projectors, comfortable chairs and rooms, and state of the art laboratories are vital in an educational environment. Over the last 10 years every child and adult has realized that watching a teacher talk and draw or write on a blackboard is simply not enough to keep interest or convey complex information. The internet is rife with videos, research papers, and clever ways of explaining new ideas, and without the correct facilities, teachers are held back and education suffers. With the correct facilities, students can be intrigued and inspired by the tools and technology they see around them. With high-speed internet and new computers, they will be more likely to do independent research. With advanced labs, chemicals, and biological samples, they will be able to do experiments that are possible nowhere else. This unfettering of the imagination is exactly what college is about, and only the best facilities can facilitate it.

Facilities are also the face of the school. On recruitment days, prospective students are more likely going to be interested in the student union, gym, library, and dorms than they are in meeting the professors. They will be inspired by the impressive technology that could be available to them if they choose this university. Students know that they will be eating at the cafeteria for the next 4 years of their life, and the quality of food is as important to them as their parents cooking they know they are leaving behind. Facilities are the structures around which new students build their university life, and they know that bad facilities will mean limited opportunities.

University is more than just a place for students to learn. It is also where professors perform experiments and write for academic journals. They too want easy access to the raw materials to find the answers to their questions. The best professors will choose the best facilities because they know they can become famous for the discoveries that need advanced tools. Highly successful professors with plenty of tools at their disposal can become impassioned and pass that on to their students, creating a desire to learn and a better learning environment overall. If a university wants good teachers and therefore good students, they need advanced facilities.

Universities are places of learning and research. Both of these goals demand the most advanced facilities for maximum results. If university has amazing laboratories, classrooms and other daily use buildings updated, then they won’t need to worry about attracting the most impressive teachers. They will already be sought after by professors and students. Great facilities lead to great teachers and students, which leads to great universities overall.

In your opinion, what is the most important characteristic (for example, honesty, intelligence, a sense of humor) that a person can have to be successful in life?

  高分思路

  Thinking critically can make

  one analyze problems insightfully.

one can concentrate on right targets

one can make decisions wise and prudent

  高分范文

To be successful in life, one needs the ability to think critically. By critical thinking, one is capable of analyzing insightfully, concentrating on the right target, thereby making a wise decision.

Thinking critically can make one analyze problems insightfully. We live in a world where controversial issues are often simply taken for granted. For example, most people are reluctant to think carefully about issues like whether boys and girls should take separate classes. Recently a high school in Beijing announced that their students from then on take separate classes. Many parents support such ridiculous decision without careful consideration. They are poor thinkers. Critical thinking is but to ask some simple yet essential questions, which always brings amazing outcomes. Is such a scheme capable of eliminating underage sexual behaviors among adolescents? Does such a scheme guarantee boys and girls against negative effects? The question left unanswered, but the decision had been made.

Thinking critically can help one concentrate on right targets. We all have only and exactly 24 hours a day, but we often have mountainous work to do in hands, along with which many personal affairs seem equally urgent. Concentrating on right targets is probably the only way to overcome such dilemmas. For example, ETS has recently announced that GRE examination will be transformed back to paper based test. Grumbles are all around, and complains are posted almost every BBS on the internet. But if students think critically, however, they will find out the simple fact that even if ETS had made an awkward decision, they should concentrate on the right target – preparing test as prudently as possible, and at the same time, grumbling never helps.

Only by thinking critically can one make decisions wise and prudent. Sound decision making is essential to success. Decisions such as which movie theater we should go tonight are simple enough to make by tossing a coin, but decisions such as which university or which major we should choose are complicated enough so that we need careful comparisons. A comparison sheet will help a lot, simply by listing several relevant questions such as Am I really interested in this major?, or Are there more opportunities in the city where the university locates? By analyzing insightfully and concentrating on the right targets, wise decisions are not hard to reach at all.

Therefore, among various characteristics that may contribute to one's success in life, being capable of thinking critically is probably the most important.
