When it comes to the issue whether a zoo has a useful purpose or not, different people hold different view. If I were faced with this question, I would probably say that a zoo has a useful purpose. In the following discussion, I would like to reason and provide evidence to support my opinion.
The most important reason I cannot neglect is that a zoo can be a wonderful and safe educational place. Nowadays, the cities in which we live are besieged with high rises and vehicles. We rarely have chances to see many kinds of animals in the city. If our children get knowledge about animals only from TV or books not from real life, how terrible it is. A zoo provides you and your children a chance to close the nature. Children can learn much knowledge which books don’t tell them exactly. Such as how large an elephant is, how tall a giraffe is , how fierce a tiger is and so on. Also adults can learn about and see types of birds they have never seen before. Unlike in the wild, there’s no worry of being harmed by an animal.
Another head and chief important reason I have chosen to put here is that a zoo helps us save endangered animals. As we all know, with the activities done by human, such as build houses and factories, many animals lose their living space so that the quantities of some them are decreased every year. How to save these animals is a big problem at current society. Give them a safe and warm home is a wise choice. A zoo is a home like this. It provides animals a safe shelter that they don’t worry about food and living place. They don’t worry about being preyed by other fierce animals or hunted by human. If you can understand this, you can understand my point better.
Last but not the least reason is that a zoo provides scientists a research lab. Research in a zoo is safer and easier to conduct than in the wild. Scientists can feel secure in the confined area of zoo. For example, while conducting a medical experiment in an open field, scientists have to worry about both the animal they have to work with, and also other animals nearby. In a zoo, however, they need only worry about the research subject. Don’t you think this example is persuasive?
To sum up, given all the reasons discussed above. We can safely reach the conclusion that a zoo has a useful purpose. The advantages of building a zoo carry more weight than disadvantages.

When it comes the issue whether people succeed only because of hard work not for luck. Different people hold different view. If I were faced with this question, I would probably say that luck is very important which causes people to succeed. In the following discussion, I would reason and provide evidence to support my opinion.
First and very important reason I cannot neglect is that luck means you get a good chance at a right moment. For example, you study hard at the university and get good grades, you wish that you could find a good career after you graduate, but at that time your country is in business depression so that the unemployment ratio is high. How can you find a satisfied job at this situation in a short time? This is not your fault, only because you don’t get a good chance at a right moment. If the economy of the country could recover, it would be easy to find a good career for everyone. So to me, the economic recovery in this example is luck. If you could understand this, you could understand my view better.
Another head and chief important reason I have chosen to put here is that luck also means you get a good chance from a right person. As we all know, many people dream to be stars, such as famous film actors, singers, athletes and so on. But how many people can make their dreams to fact at last? The answer is obvious. Why could Nicole Kidman be a famous film star? Why could Tiger be a famous golf player? There are many people who make efforts not less than these stars, but they don’t meet a right person who promotes them from other average people. So luck is important in everyone’s life. Don’t you think this example is persuasive?
Last but not the least reason is that some inventions are created by luck not by working hard. Cola is a popular soft drink in the world. But do you know where is cola from? The answer is that it was created from a lucky mistake. At the beginning, the origin of this drink was a cough medicine. A young man put this medicine to soda water by mistake, but eventually he found it taste good. Then he sold this drink to people that made he rich in the future. And now cola becomes the famous drink over the world.
To sum up, given all the reasons discussed above. We can safely reach the conclusion that people need work hard to reach their goals, but sometimes luck is more important than working hard.
