GM loses court bid to hold up Delphi contracts hearing

　　汽车业巨头通用汽车（GM）曾向法庭提出，推迟就陷入困境的汽车零部件制造商德尔福（Delphi）申请废除其劳工合同召开的听证会，昨日该项努力宣告失败。

　　General Motors yesterday lost its court bid to postpone hearings on Delphi's application to tear up its labour contracts.

　　通用汽车与德尔福之间在如何避免罢工、以免业务陷入瘫痪的问题上存在分歧，而上述决定加大了这一分歧。德尔福已要求，大幅度削减其3.4万名蓝领工人的薪金和福利，称这对于挽救其美国业务至关重要。

　　The decision widens the rift between the auto giant and the struggling parts maker over the best way to avert a crippling strike. Delphi has demanded deep wage and benefits cuts from its 34，000 blue-collar workers， saying they are essential to the survival of its US operations.
