第一类 Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Sample: Some people say that the increasing business and cultural contact between countries is a positivedevelopment, while others think that many countries will lose their national identities. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

第二类 Causes and solutions or causes and consequences

Sample: In many countries, more and more young people are leaving schools and unable to find jobs after graduation. What problems do you think youth unemployment will cause to the individualand the society? Give reasons and make some suggestions.

第三类 What’s your opinion?

Sample: Some people think that universities should provide graduates with knowledge and skills needed in the workplace, while others argue that the main function of universities is to teach students theoreticalknowledge. What’s your opinion?

第四类 Do you agree or disagree? or to what extent do you agree or disagree?

第五类 Mixed type
