A Letter to a Schoolmate

Dear xxx,

I was delighted to read your May letter and note that you have decided to spend your summer vacation in Beijing. First of all, I should say that I would like to meet you at the Capital Airport. Secondly, I would like to suggest the following activities, if you agree.

For the weekday mornings, we could go to the English training classes as we agreed in previous letters, but in the afternoons we could study in the library for two hours and then do sports for another two hours. During the weekends, I could serve as your guide to show you around Beijing. I think we should make a detailed plan for sightseeing as soon as you arrive in Beijing.

By the way, it is very hot in summer, so you don’t have to bring with you many clothes, but you do need to have your swimming trunks with you so that we can go swimming in the afternoons. Mosquitoes are fierce too, so please bring with you some preventative medicines or mosquito repellant, so as to make sure we sleep well in the dormitory.
