Chinese aircraft manufacturers attend the 47th Paris International Air Show

The 47th Paris International Air Show has kicked off at Bourget, a Paris suburb. While Chinese companies are trying to get a piece of the action, the competition between global aircraft giants Boeing and Airbus have again become the focus at the show.
The air show, the biggest of its kind in the world, has attracted over two thousand exhibitors. Kicking off on Monday, the week-long Paris Air Show will give commercial and military aircraft manufacturers the chance to show off their latest products. Five Chinese aviation enterprises are also showcasing their products and seeking cooperation opportunities.
Hu Xiangming, general manager of China’s Aviation Industry Corporation said:"Our company sent a huge delegation with over 300 staff. We are here to present the Chinese image. Some people don't even know that China also has its own plane manufacturing industry. We have to take this opportunity to cooperate with the world's leading aircraft makers."
Several deals has been inked between Chinese companies and their overseas counterparts. China's Aviation Industry Corporation I announced a long-term cooperation plan with Canada's Bombardier Aerospace.
Also on the first day, European planemaker Airbus got some good news. Despite expectations that Boeing would exceed Airbus to become the biggest seller at the show, Airbus has already landed billions of dollars of orders at the start of the event. Airlines including Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airlines have ordered more than 320 planes worth a total of 45.7 billion US dollars.
Paris is the world's oldest airshow and traditionally one of the most lucrative. This year's show will end on June,25th.
