The British Prime Minister Tony Blair has described the G8 Summit beginning in Germany today as an opportunity for a frank conversation with the Russian President Vladimir Putin. In an interview for the BBC, the Prime Minister speaks of the confrontational way, in which Vladimir Putin raised the issue of American plans for a missile shield in Eastern Europe. He says that Russia now faces a choice about whether to interact with the West on the basis of shared values.”
