eBay continues Asian buying spree

这家全球最大的在线拍卖商在亚洲进行了一系列收购，此次收购韩国子公司将是它的最新一次行动。拟议中的收购将加速eBay在海外市场的快速扩张。第二季度，海外销售收入占eBay总销售额的42%。

eBay在欧洲大举扩张之后，最近已把重心放在了亚洲，这里有无数的年轻网络公司。今年7月，eBay动用5000万美元，协议收购印度最大的在线交易商Baazee.com，并在去年以1.8亿美元收购了中国领先的电子商务公司易趣(Eachnet)。

eBay收购Internet Auction的报价要高于它在印度和中国的收购出价，这反映了在亚洲地区，韩国的电子商务市场最为发达。

eBay is poised to take full control of Internet Auction, its South Korean affiliate, for an estimated $530m in cash.

It would mark the latest in a string of acquisitions in Asia by the world's biggest online auctioneer. The proposed move for Internet Auction would accelerate the US-based company's rapid expansion in overseas markets, which accounted for 42 per cent of its total sales in the second quarter.

After expanding aggressively in Europe, Ebay has more recently turned its focus to Asia, where there are numerous young internet companies. Ebay agreed in June to buy Baazee.com, India's largest online marketplace, for $50m, and bought Eachnet, China's leading e-commerce company, for $180m last year.

Other US internet companies, such as Yahoo, Amazon and Google, have also invested heavily in Asia, where internet usage is growing quickly among the region's 3.75bn population.

Ebay's offer for Internet Auction is bigger than its acquisitions in India and China, reflecting South Korea's status as the region's most developed e-commerce market.
