Buddhists in Sichuan province have strongly criticized the recent violence in Lhasa caused by the secessionists and condemned their criminal activities, which had wrecked havoc on the region.

Living Buddha Doji Chagxi of Chuqing Temple, said, "As a Buddhist, I feel very sad and sorry. Lhasa is a Mecca of Buddhism. Those rioters had behaved so badly, they had caused many innocent lives to be hurt and lost."

Living Buddha Dazhag of Dazhag Temple said, "I absolutely support the Party and the central government's measures in tackling the rioters. Our society is stable and people are live happy and comfortable lives. We have been blessed by the country's policies on religion."
