During the years he was in my service,he was highly appreciated by everyone in my firm.

第一句是个固定用法：in the best[true] sense of the term[word]地地道道地，确确实实地

第二句是红色部分是名词性从句，when 引导，在口语中可以用that代替，也可以省掉；be in my serivece应该和be at my service是一个意思，后者更常用，都是“为我效劳”的意思。
During the years (that or when or省略) he was in my service, he was highly appreciated by everyone in my firm。在为我效劳的这些年中，他得到了全司上下的一致赏识。
